Log-home Company plans expansion in Nash County

RALEIGH — A maker of log homes is expanding its headquarters in Nash County, bringing 50 jobs and an
investment of $1.8 million over three years, Gov. Mike Easley announced yesterday.


AmerLink Ltd., which already employs 43 people at its Battleboro facility in northeastern North Carolina,
will add telemarketing, design and planning staff members. The company got a $50,000 grant from the
One North Carolina Fund that must be matched by local governments and will be eligible for tax credits
based on the jobs created.


The average weekly pay for the new jobs will be $838 plus benefits. The county’s average weekly wage is
$531, according to the governor’s office.
