When constructing log homes, In The Woods uses only the best wood -- Eastern White Pine. It's a superior insulator and features a straight grain to minimize twisting. In comparison, such woods as Southern Yellow Pine, Oak or Walnut offer much lower insulating capabilities and will shrink and/or twist to a greater degree than Eastern White Pine.
